May 02, 2015 In closing, Suikoden III: The Successor of Fate Volume 1 is good Manga that offers the beginning to a complex storyline and shows good promise of developing into an attention-holding, entertaining read. Suikoden was more than just a videogame, it was an experience. Part of what makes Suikoden III so unique is how the storyline is addressed. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered Review.

Wiki for all things Suikoden related. A place to discuss, you guessed it, JRPGs. RPG news and discussion for Eastern and Western RPGs! They’re both good games but not on the same level as 1 and 2 in my opinion. Suikoden 3 takes place about 15 years after the second game and Suikoden 4 goes back over 150 years before the first game. You don’t need to play 3 before 4 but I would advise playing 3 first as it’s the better game and continues on nicely after completing 4.Suikoden 4 is generally regarded as the low point in the series and is largely unconnected to the rest of the series save for some unexpected characters returning from past games. Saying that some people say it’s the best in the series but I find that it’s usually because it was their entry point to the series.
The first time i played 3, i did not like it. It was such a departure in terms of gameplay and narrative structure. But when i replayed it, i really enjoyed it. It's a bit more complex and really interesting how you basically get three vantage points to the same story. The gameplay almost makes battles a bit more challenging.Dont need to play 3 before 4.
The only connecting threads in 3 come from the first two games (i think). 4 was not for me and i never replayed it. Boat travel annoyed the hell out of me, but hey, maybe i just sucked at it. However tactics, which is tied to 4, is pretty great.
I can't think of a single instance where this rule is not true - Play in release order.(wait, maybe Yakuza with the Kiwami releases?)The two games are very different from each other. Suikoden III is the bigger departure of the series, making changes to the story-telling formula in addition to all of the gameplay tweaks. Suikoden IV returns to the similar narrative themes/devices that I and II use, and seemingly drops most of the changes III made.Advice for Suikoden III: you dictate the order at which you play the game (trying to stay discreet/avoid spoilers). If you feel like the pacing is rough, you should pick different scenarios that interest you more. (Slight spoilers) Between the three characters, there are reasons why a player should go in a specific order, but I honestly think you should choose their chapters in the order of how they interest you.
My personal feeling is that playing each character's 1st chapters before moving on to the 2nd and 3rd causes the game's pacing to feel sluggish and unsatisfying.for Suikoden IV: (SoD spoiler, in case you want to avoid it) Look up how to get Viki, and get her as soon as possible. You get access to her very early in the game, and that minimizes the amount of sea faring you need to do.
